Introduction

Hi, I'm Cary, and I like warm hugs.  (Little Frozen reference there.  No?  Never mind.) You may remember me from my first blog, Cary's Thoughts, or you may just know me personally.  (Actually, if you're reading this, you probably already know me from outside the Internet.) First things first.  I'm a sophomore at a nearby community college, but one more semester and I'll graduate from there and be ready to move on to university.  My major right now is General Studies, but once I transfer, I'll be an English major.  I love writing, and I would love to be a published author someday.  Actually, I've already been published once: this semester in my college magazine.  Every year, there's a contest for local artists and authors to submit their writings or art.  It includes categories for high school students, college students, and community members, including instructors at my college.  This year there were some 130 entries for short stories just from students at my college alone.  I got Bronze for my story "The Ballerina," which I wrote for my creative writing class.  Exciting!

Here's some news: I have a boyfriend!  Yes, you read that right.  His name's Elliott, and we've been together for three months now.  We used to play together all the time, since his grandma lived behind us and he would visit her all the time.  I probably hadn't seen him since I was 12 or 13 when I saw him at his grandma's visitation about three months ago.  Later that night, after the visitation, I found him on Facebook and friended him.  We've been talking pretty much every day since.  Unfortunately, he lives in Kansas City, which is about three hours away, and he doesn't have a car of his own.  Needless to say, I don't get to see him very often, although I went up to see him about a week ago.  In some ways, it made it easier for me to see him, but it also made it harder, too.  I don't know if he's "the one" yet, but I guess time will tell. :) He's super sweet, so I know he's worth it.

I think that's a good enough introduction for now.  Finals were about a couple of weeks ago, so now I'm out for the summer.  I don't have any summer classes, but I'm hoping I can get a job.  I've applied a bunch of places, but noone's contacted me yet, other than O'Reilly's.  They were supposed to call me back, but I never heard from them again.  I'll keep you posted.  I honestly have no idea what else I'm doing this summer or what I'll post on here, but I'll do my best to keep you in the know.  Later, gator, and enjoy a cappuccino for me.

God bless,
Cary
